Welcome
The chapter structure is ready. Method chapters are outlines awaiting worked examples and statistical review.
Use this free CDI reference to move from a question to an analysis you can explain and defend.
- Start with Questions and methods.
- Review Statistical inference.
- Try the runnable two-group example.
- Apply your learning in the Statistical Inference Practical.
Your question → Your inputs → Run the analysis → Check evidence → Explain with limitations.
Examples will use R and Python as appropriate. Bash scripts handle setup and workflow checks.
This guide is a reference: read the foundations once, then open the chapter that matches your question and design.
How each chapter works
Question, suitable use, target estimate or hypothesis, assumptions, runnable analysis, output interpretation, reporting, and alternatives.
Current status
This is a scaffold, not a finished statistical textbook. Chapter 05 includes a runnable starter example. Other chapters contain explicit development prompts.
Tools
Use R or Python for analysis and Bash for setup and checks. Run commands from the repository root. Rendering does not run the external analysis scripts; run them separately when developing examples.
See README.md for setup. The examples use synthetic data and do not establish real-world effects.
